Harding was the first American skater to complete a triple axel in any competition. She should have been America’s darling. But she came from the wrong side of the tracks and never got the recognition or marks she deserved.
Tonya’s world came crashing down in 1994 when she became embroiled in a hamfisted plot to kneecap her main US rival Nancy Kerrigan. She missed out on an Olympic medal, got banned from skating for life and became forever linked to one of the greatest scandals in sporting history.
